The Sport and Movement Science Program at Victoria University (VU) sits within the College of Sport, Health and Engineering.

With an international reputation for excellence that has seen us ranked no. 7 in the world for sport science (ShanghaiRankings 2022), we offer our students world-class opportunities.

Studying with us, you will have access to our $68 million teaching and research facility at Footscray Park Campus, with labs for exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning and skilled performance. You'll also benefit from high-tech recreational sport and fitness facilities, and our exercise physiology clinic where you can practise your skills with real clients.

We are responsible for supporting and guiding students studying exercise science, fitness, osteopathy, performance analysis and physiotherapy.

Industry partnerships

When you study sport and movement science at Victoria University, you benefit from our extensive, long-established partnerships with professional and community sporting bodies and healthcare providers.

We have built relationships with an extensive network of 200+ professional sporting bodies and employers. We work closely with them to help you develop into an industry-ready graduate equipped with the skills and experience to meet our partners' workforce needs.

  • creating research insights and translation
  • providing innovative curriculum to strengthen career pathways
  • advancing workforce development.

In 2019, Professor Clare Hanlon was appointed as the inaugural Susan Alberti Women in Sport Chair. The Chair's role is to advance women in sport by strengthening sector alignment and collaboration, facilitating research insights to enhance decision making and advocating for career pathways for women in sport through our innovative curriculum design.
