The Mobile and Cloud Service Development major builds on the first-year foundational units to provide students with in-depth knowledge and advanced IT skills in the specialized areas of application development and cloud computing. The focus of this major is to scaffold knowledge around cloud computing through the introduction of cloud Infrastructure, guidance through the build of applications in a variety of formats, including web and mobile, and eventually deployment of these application in the cloud. Cloud engineers, cyber security professionals, ICT professionals, mobile application developers and DevOps engineers are the most demanding IT jobs in the industry; and this major will contribute to the development of SFIA skills, specifically in these areas. This major provides both technical depth as well as breadth through exploration of the topics and possible disruptions in these areas through the core units and the application of these skills and knowledge through industry-relevant capstone projects.
