Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - planning and organising skills to develop and follow a plan; - identify the main idea and key supporting information in texts related to the issue; - record findings of investigation; - develop a plan and identify appropriate investigation methods with a relevant person, and; - discuss and convey information about the impact of the scientific issue under investigation. Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - meaning making strategies, and; - scientific terminology to enable information and ideas to be expressed verbally and in writing.
