This unit (VU22371) describes the skills and knowledge to develop the basic skills and confidence to perform simple and familiar numeracy tasks involving the identification, comparison and sketching of simple and familiar two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes and designs which are part of the learners' normal routines to do with familiar buildings, furniture, signs, or common household or workplace objects. Learners will communicate these mathematical ideas using mainly spoken responses with some written responses. Learners at this level may request support and begin to develop their own support resources.
