This unit (VHH1002) will provide students with the opportunity to acquire a skills-based, practical understanding of the planning, management and operational requirements of running a successful and sustainable hotel. Working individually and in teams, students to create operational plans and strategies that balance the general business operations of a hotel with contemporary environmentally sustainable approaches.

1. | Locate and interpret hotel environmental and sustainable benchmarks to respond to short and long term operational issues and problems as they relate to sustainability within hotel operations; | ||
2. | Develop a hotel operational plan, including resourcing requirements, work health and safety, environmental sustainability and a monitoring/review cycle; | ||
