This unit (HLTAAP001) describes the skills and knowledge required to work with basic information about the human body and to recognise and promote ways to maintain healthy functioning of the body. This unit applies to any worker who needs to use and interpret information that includes references to client anatomy and physiology. The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.

Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - worked effectively with information about the human body and its healthy functioning in at least three (3) different situations.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - basic structure and functions of the body systems and associated components; - processes, conditions and resources required by the body to support healthy functioning, and; - body regulation.
