Evidence Based Practice for Osteopathy aims to build on academic skills and contextualize the role of evidence and research in osteopathy, including an understanding of the levels of evidence. Informed by the scientific principles of research, students are able to investigate the applicability of qualitative and quantitative research approaches through examination of biases and confounders. Ethical considerations are explored through various osteopathic research design scenarios.

Assessment
Assessments 1 & 3 test foundational knowledge in preparation for application in subsequent assessment tasks. Assessment 2 develops students' understanding of factors affecting the quality of research. In Assessment 4, students will examine ethical issues from a range of case studies and will justify an ethical stance.
