Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - produce documents following correct ergonomic, conservation requirements and organisational policies and procedures; - adhere to organisational style manual when formatting documents; - refer to help function and user documentation to rectify document problems; - use system features, and; - follow designated timelines when preparing documents. Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - identify basic formatting styles and their effect on formatting, readability and appearance of documents; - describe purpose, use and function of word processing software; - outline organisational requirements for ergonomics, work periods and breaks, and conservation techniques, and; - describe what is contained in an organisational style guide.
