This unit (APT6019) of study will provide a foundation of counselling micro skills when counselling children and adolescents. There will be discussion of settings in which counselling occurs, an introduction to basic counselling skills, and understanding of how to use these skills in assessment and intervention plans. Through role-plays and class activities, students will be encouraged to practice counselling micro skills and begin development of case formulations specific to children and adolescents.
