Build your leadership skills for management and supervisory roles with the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management at Victoria University Polytechnic.
You will develop the communication skills and leadership strategies to develop and lead diverse teams, build business networks and implement operational plans. This course will equip you with leadership skills necessary to work in wide range of organisations and industry sectors.
On completion, you will know how to:

- implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs.

Course structure
To be awarded the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, 12 units must be completed consisting of:
* 5 core units
* 7 elective units, of which
- 4 elective units must be selected from Group A
- for the remaining 3 elective units:
- up to 3 units may be selected from Groups A and B
- if not listed, up to 2 units may be selected from Certificate IV or above or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course.

Alternative suitable electives are only available via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT).

Learning outcomes
This qualification is designed for individuals who are interested in building leadership skills; to gain or progress in a management or supervisory role. Students will develop the knowledge and skills to guide a team in a competitive and challenging market whilst delivering quality products and services through the effective management of projects, monitoring of health and safety and effective team leadership in the workplace. They will develop some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of teams and apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems; analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

Students who enrol in a:
- government subsidised place pay subsidised tuition fees (the government contributes the rest), and may be required to pay a Student Services and Amenities Fee along with any material fees
- full fee-paying place pay the full fee tuition rate (which includes Student Services and Amenities Fee and any material fees).

* confirmation employment as a trainee
* confirmation applicants have an active Epsilon number prior to commencing the course.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

You may be able to complete your qualification sooner through formal recognition of your existing skills. This is known as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
To receive RPL, we assess your previous work, education and life experiences against recognised qualifications. Applications for RPL can be made prior to enrolling.
