Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - communication skills to discuss and document findings - analytical skills to interpret technical legal information and apply appropriate principles of wills, probate and administration procedures Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - relevant legislative and statutory requirements and provisions pertaining to wills, probate and administration procedures - general principles of law relating to wills, probate and administration procedures including: - requirements for the validity of a will - intestate estates - obtaining a grant of probate or letters of administration - duties of executors or administrators, and trustees - caveats - family provision
