This unit (SPE2200) provides students with an exploration and experience of games and sports, including athletics, for participation and performance in contemporary physical activity and movement contexts. Students will develop an understanding of different types of games and sports, including athletics; experience the delivery of movement opportunities through games, sports, and athletics; use their knowledge and skills to apply movement concepts and strategies in games, sports and athletics; practice specialised movement skills and apply them in different movement situations; transfer movement concepts and strategies between games; modify games and activities for participation and skill development; and use feedback to improve performance in games, sports, and athletics. These concepts will be explored through theoretical understanding and participation in games, sports, and athletics.
