In this unit students will integrate experiential learning theories, models and concepts with the skills of adventure programming, to deliver engaging adventure based sessions. The differences between varied adventure based learning environments will be discussed. Students will investigate how adventure programming can be provided to a diverse range of users in both natural and built environments. As well, students will develop an appreciation of the physical, mental and social benefits of these activities.
Off campus field teaching in this unit may require a levy for incidental fees for accommodation, transport and camping.

Assessment
Due to risk management and professional/industry requirements to demonstrate knowledge and skill within both simulated and workplace environments, graded attendance and hurdle tasks apply to laboratory work and practicums.
All unit field practicums are Hurdle Tasks that must be completed in full to pass the unit. Any failure to complete practicums due to ill health, injury or crisis will require that the practicum be made up in a subsequent delivery.
