Modern information technology projects are developed quicker and at a lower cost, often (but not always) by a team of IT professionals. In this unit, complex IT projects will be developed by students, considering the requirements and the maintainability of the final product. Each student will work on a project as a member of an IT project development team. The projects will focus on industrial and business IT applications such as intelligent systems, IoT systems, network systems, financial systems, and medical information systems. To successfully complete the project, students will be required to apply an advanced body of knowledge and specialist cognitive and technical skills in one or more IT areas, including user experience, cybersecurity, software development, database management systems, networking, wireless/mobile computing, intelligent systems, IoT, web-based and general application development environments. At the successful completion of this unit, students will be able to manage and contribute to current IT projects.
