This unit (LGACOM410A) covers responding to tenders by preparing a tender bid or submission. It supports the attainment of skills and knowledge required for competent workplace performance in councils of all sizes. Knowledge of the legislation and regulations within which councils must operate is essential. The unique nature of councils, as a tier of government directed by elected members and reflecting the needs of local communities, must be appropriately reflected.

Assessment
Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines.
Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills:
- logical argument for written reports, and;
- verbal presentation of bid.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge:
- national competition policy and its application at state and enterprise level;
- core and non-core activities;
- occupational health and safety;
- strategies, policies and procedures on sustainable practice;
- risk assessment, and;
- work flow.
