Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. Investigate the basic principles of inorganic and organic chemistry relevant to dermal science;  
  2. Apply knowledge of the chemistry and function of cosmetic formulations;  
  3. Assess issues of toxicity, skin irritation and formulation stability in regard to cosmetic formulations; and  
  4. Formulate, produce and critique cosmetic formulations.
