In this unit students will analyse models of leadership and critically review their application in Early Childhood and other settings. As future leaders in their workplace, students will be asked to examine questions such as: What informs our decision making? What challenges and issues do leaders face in contemporary professional environments? What models and theories can help leaders to understand leadership, as well as to respond to these challenges? How do we make decisions with the care and safety of children and vulnerable people at the forefront? What are our responsibilities to the people we work with? How do we make good decisions in times of crisis? Students will also examine, participate in and reflect on the role of mentoring.
