Assessment

Assessment tasks will be designed to reinforce and extend knowledge and skill competence within set and controlled parameters in accordance with each unit's learning outcomes and performance criteria requirements, including the setting of work based practical application tasks designed to provide evidence of competence outcomes, within periodic and scheduled timelines. Students will be expected to demonstrate the following required skills: - calculating perimeter, circumference, area, volume, ratio, percentage, and; - converting metres to millimetres and millimetres to metres. In doing this, the person must meet the performance criteria for this unit.Students will also be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge: - construction industry requirements for carrying out measurements and calculations; - uses and applications of measuring and calculating equipment in the construction industry, including, laser equipment, rulers, tape measures, trundle wheels, electronic calculators and computer-based and online calculators; - formulae and methods for calculating perimeter, circumference. area, volume, ratio, percentage, and; - formulae and methods for conversion of metres to millimetres and millimetres to metres.
