This unit (ASA6005) is the first Community-Based Research unit, which is followed by Community Based Research (Part 2) Students are required to enter into a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) contract relating to a community development project or program in an agency. The contract is negotiated between the university supervisor, agency supervisor and student, and specifies learning objectives and strategies in three areas: conceptual and policy; practical skills; and personal development. Students are required to participate in a number of key phases and activities of the program or project and write an assignment that outlines the processes and outcomes of the project.
