This unit (APP2013) of study is designed to provide students with an understanding of theories and methods in, cognitive and biological psychology and further training in research methods. The cognitive psychology component aims to extend students' knowledge of learning and cognition, perception and brain-behaviour relationships. The basic principles and methods of psychological assessment will also be examined. The research methods component provides students with training in quantitative research methods including theory and application. Students will develop an understanding of techniques of data collection, data entry, data analysis, statistical programs and report writing.
