This unit (AAH2003) of study examines social and political change in Europe from 1900 to the outbreak of World War II. This period witnessed the disintegration of old empires and the emergence of new ideologies. Thus the principal theme is the development, character and impact in this period communism in Russia and Nazism in Germany.
