The New Colombo Plan (NCP) Scholarship Program gives undergraduate students the opportunity to live, work and study in the Indo-Pacific region.

The program is an Australian Government initiative that provides Australian students with funding to study and undertake language training, an internship or a mentorship in one of 40 participating Indo-Pacific locations.

Value

The scholarships offer a generous financial package covering, among other benefits:

  • tuition fees for academic and language study
  • travel and establishment allowances
  • monthly stipend for living costs.

Assessment

You will be assessed by Victoria University and we will nominate our candidates for the scholarship.

We will assess your CV and an application made by video, considering:

  • academic excellence at the tertiary level
  • ability to contribute to NCP strategic objectives and outcomes
  • leadership and engagement in the community
  • adaptability and resilience.

Eligibility

To be considered for the NCP Scholarship, you must:

  • be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree at Victoria University
  • have completed one year of undergraduate study at the time of departure
  • achieved a minimum credit average of 70%
  • be aged 18-28 (inclusive) on 1 January 2024
  • be an Australian citizen.

To submit a formal application for the NCP Scholarship Program, you must be nominated by Victoria University.

To express your interest in applying, make a short video (up to 2 minutes long) to:

  • introduce yourself
  • explain your interest in applying for the NCP Scholarship
  • specify the destination you would like to study or undertake an internship/mentorship in
  • describe how you would hope to benefit from studying or working overseas.

After nomination

If you are shortlisted after you’ve expressed your interest, we’ll be in contact with you.
