Course contents

Students who successfully complete PLUMLICSS003 Plumbing Licence in Gasfitting Work Skill Set, will receive a Statement of Attainment for unit CPCPGS4011 Design and size consumer gas installations.

Prepare yourself for a career in plumbing by completing the PLUMLICSS003 Plumbing Licence in Gasfitting Work Skill Set course at Victoria University.

This course is designed for registered plumbers looking to extend their technical skills and knowledge. It offers you a pathway to becoming a licensed plumber. Note: Those seeking licensing with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) should check current licensing requirements with the VBA.

A licensed plumber is expected to have additional knowledge and experience compared to a plumber who holds registration. To become licensed in a class of plumbing, you must satisfy the requirements for each class you intend to apply, this includes holding the prescribed units for licence for which you are applying. The unit contained in this course contributes to the prescribed units for class specific licensing in Gasfitting work in Victoria.

The course is delivered 1 night per week over 15 weeks.

Prior to commencing this Skill Set an individual must have achieved the 5 units listed below:
- BSBESB402 Establish legal and risk management requirements of new business ventures
- CPCCBC4012 Read and interpret plans and specifications
- CPCPCM4011Carry out work-based risk control processes
- CPCPCM4012 Estimate and cost work
- CPCPCM4015 Access and interpret regulatory requirements for the plumbing and services industryAnd must hold a Certificate III in Plumbing or be authorised to undertake plumbing work by an Australian regulator/licensing body.

All applicants must complete to determine suitability:
- Pre-training Review (PTR)
- Literacy and numeracy assessment
