There are many factors that can affect the return to training and competition, therefore, the aim of this unit is for students to develop an understanding of common sporting injuries, functional performance tests and develop the skills to deliver evidence-based return to play programs. Students will develop an understanding of the aetiology and mechanisms of various injuries, functional assessment testing along with a well-defined return to play criteria that is appropriate for the athlete's injury, sport and position.
