Overview
Improve your presentation skills by learning the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint in a short course at Victoria University Polytechnic.
This half-day workshop is designed for people who are new to PowerPoint, and need to learn the basics to create presentations at work.
Delivered over 4 hours, the online professional-development course will introduce you to Microsoft PowerPoint features and teach you how to create engaging presentations.
These practical skills will help you to succeed in your current role, or enhance your CV for future job applications.
Learning outcomes
This workshop will provide participants with a foundational understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint at introductory/beginner level. It is anticipated that the participants will be existing workers with a range of experiences in diverse workplace contexts to better manage their current role responsibilities or to expand their skill set to access employment or promotion.
The program is a four (4) hour workshop via an online platform, facilitator led delivery will provide an overview of platform being utilised and expectations of participation whilst ensuring any participant technology issues are addressed. This course will be facilitated via webinar or zoom scheduled times, including short videos, and electronic resources provided to participants and involves group discussions to support the key objectives listed below.
At the completion of the workshop participants will be able to:
• Demonstrate and discuss workstation ergonomics while working with PowerPoint
• Identify Microsoft PowerPoint features
• Plan and create engaging PowerPoint presentations
• Use the functions embedded within the ribbon

There are no specific admission requirements.
Participants will need access to a computer with an operational version of Microsoft PowerPoint installed on their computer. The program requires participants to have basic level of computer skills to access and operate the online learning software to navigate a webpage and find information, attend a webinar using zoom or webex for online delivery. If the course is being delivered face-to-face onsite, computer access is not required.
