Develop and enhance your project management skills with the Introduction to Project Management short course at Victoria University Polytechnic.
This professional development workshop is suitable for individuals from any industry, job role, community or sporting organisation.
It provides participants with a foundational awareness and understanding of basic principles of project management.
At the completion of the workshop, you will be able to:
- define and scope a project
- describe the steps to developing a project plan
- describe principles and processes to manage project implementation
- identify and describe steps in closing a project.
Learning outcomes
Introduction to Project Management workshop is offered to a broad range of individuals who are seeking to expand their skill set in project management for their current role or to access employment or promotion. This professional development workshop is offered to individuals, who are seeking to develop and enhance their foundational awareness and knowledge of basic project management principles. It is anticipated that the participants will be existing workers with a range of experiences in diverse workplace contexts.
The program is delivered over a two (2) half day workshops. The course requires participants to have basic level computer skills to access and operate the online learning software to navigate a webpage and find information, attend a webinar using zoom or webex for online delivery. If the course is being delivered face-to-face onsite, computer access is not required.
At the completion of the workshop participants will be able to:

•Describe the steps to developing a project plan
•Describe principles and processes to manage project implementation
•Identify and describe steps in closing a project
