Start learning the basics of English, with Victoria University's Course in Initial EAL 22636VIC.
During this course you will learn to sound and read words, and to recognise and write letters. You will also begin to develop handwriting skills.
You will develop the skills in the following:
- recognising letters of the alphabet and their sounds
- recognising and writing letters and numbers
- beginning to identify digital media.

Learning outcomes
22636VIC Course in Initial EAL is designed for adults for whom English is an additional language and who have no experience of formal education. This course will support students to develop basic English lanuage skills in preparation for participation in the community and further education.
This course, you will begin to develop English language skills such as:

recognising the letters of the alphabet

speak and read words

recognising and writing letters and numbers

completing simple language tasks using technology
Upon completion of this course you will be able to undertake further study in English and continue to develop your skills.
