Overview

Gain the accreditation needed to obtain your Restricted Electrical Worker's licence at Victoria University.

This Energy Safe Victoria (ESV)-approved assessment is open to you, if you are already working as a:

  • technician
  • engineer
  • fitter
  • plumber
  • air-conditioning technician

This 70 minute (1 hour and 10 minute) assessment is available between 8am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday at Victoria University's Sunshine campus. Please allow time for arrival and registration.

You must already hold a minimum of Class 2 Disconnect Reconnect Restricted Electrical License in order to undertake this assessment.

Careers

After completing this assessment, you will be issued a Restricted Electrical Worker’s licence, so long as Energy Safe Victoria are satisfied:

  • the licence is required for your trade, vocation or occupation
  • you have a history of working in a relevant trade and can demonstrate competency in this field.

You may require further training and completion of the Restricted Electrical Licence Class 1, before achieving full accreditation.

Energy Safe Victoria (ESV), the electrical safety and technical regulator, specifies that an electrician must satisfactorily complete the Class 2 Restricted Electrical Licence assessment as part of the registration application process. If you are looking to obtain your Registered Electrical Workers Licence - Class 2 through Energy Safe Victoria (ESV)

This assessment only short course applies to non-electrical trades such as technicians, engineers, fitters, plumbers, air-conditioning and technicians who hold the minimum of Class 2 Disconnect Reconnect Restricted Electrical License and wish to undertake Energy Safe Victoria Assessment for Restricted Electrical Licence Class 1.

Victoria University is an Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) approved provider to conduct the Restricted Electrical Workers Licence - Class 1 assessment.

Located at Sunshine Campus, participants are able to undertake the 70 minute (1 hour and 10 minute) assessment. Available times between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm from Monday to Friday.

Admission & pathways

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee you entry into this course. Some courses receive more applications than the number of places available. In this situation we will also assess your education, work and other relevant experience.
