Overview
Revise and develop your literacy and numeracy skills to prepare for the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) examination with this preparation course.
Course delivery
This course will be delivered via Zoom. You can choose if you want to do the literacy or numeracy only. The literacy or numeracy course runs over 4 sessions with fixed dates and times.
You will need to attend all session dates and times accordingly.
The program aims to build your literacy and numeracy knowledge and confidence. The course covers a range of general numeracy and literacy topics as well as technical writing skills.
The course includes:
- intensive teacher support
- test preparation techniques
- strategies to use during the test
- practice tests
- feedback on skills and areas for improvement.
By the end of the course, you'll have gained relevant skills in the following areas in preparation to sit the LANTITE exam:
- spelling
- grammar
- reading and comprehension
- punctuation
- vocabulary
- numbers and algebra
- measurement and geometry
- statistics and probability
- calculator and non-calculator questions
- using an online calculator.
Please note: this is a preparation course, this is not the LANTITE exam.

In order to be issued a Certificate of Participation for THAAA LANTITE Preparation Course, a student must attend the course.

Learning outcomes
Revise and develop your literacy and numeracy skills to prepare for the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) examination with this preparation course.
This teacher-facilitated online program aims to build your literacy and/or numeracy proficiency and confidence. Depending on which skills you want to develop, you can elect to study either numeracy, literacy or both components. Each component is delivered through six (6) hours of scheduled online classes across two (2) weeks. The course covers a range of numeracy topics and literacy skills in preparation for the LANTITE test.
