Learning outcomes
22660VIC Course in Identifying and Responding to Family Violence Risk course is designed for participants who may have identification-level responsibilities under the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) framework. This course will support their current role (employed or voluntary) that involves identifying, assessing risk and responding to clients experiencing family violence.
The course aligns to the MARAM Framework.
This includes the ability to:
- Identify the presenting risk of family violence
- Provide a response appropriate to the individual
- Use MARAM identification tools including levels (1, 2, 5, 6, 9 and 10) appropriate to the individual
- Engage with the individual in a respectful, sensitive and safe manner
- Determine appropriate professionals or services for secondary consultation
- Seek and share risk-relevant information
- Know how to contribute to coordinated risk management and collaborate for ongoing risk assessment and risk management
- In addition, this course provides the foundational understanding of family violence and risk required by those undertaking further levels of specialisation in family violence risk assessment and management.
This course is delivered over a 3 hour session per week via an online platform (5:30pm – 8:30pm). The facilitator will provide an overview of the platform being used and the expectations of participation and including the use of camera and a microphone. During this introduction, the facilitator will ensure participant technology issues are identified and addressed.
