Founded in May 2019, the Victoria University SAP Academic Competence Centre (SAP ACC) is a joint partnership between VU IT Services, VU Business School and SAP that delivers business products and services to academic institutions across the entire Asia-Pacific.

In our SAP Next Gen Lab incubator our business students are immersed in real-world projects, solving emergent problems for industry partners with SAP software that powers 92% of Forbes Global 2000 companies. SAP ACC also incorporates the VU Female Quotient Equality Lounge (FQ Lounge), inspiring the next generation of women in business.

It’s no surprise then that SAP ACC graduates are going on to become rising stars in the business world. Here are a few of their stories.

“I chose VU as it was the only university in Australia offering such hands-on learning in the field of ERP systems and tools.”

“After taking an undergraduate Commerce degree and developing an interest in IT and business processes, I gravitated towards VU’s Master of Enterprise Resource Planning Management. VU has such advanced material and resources providing students with practical learning experiences and real life use cases of SAP. 

Since completing my placement in VU’s SAP ACC, I landed a competitive graduate ERP consultant position with Infor, a global software company that specialise in providing cloud-based ERP software solutions. Without my internship I wouldn’t have had the experience in ERP applications, testing softwares and IT management software that is required for this career. In addition, the internship experience exposed me to working amongst agile teams which was a common touch point in job interviews.

“While working for a pharmaceutical company in Nigeria, I was looking to gain business skills required for me to move forward in my career and pursue work in Australia.

The SAP ACC internship, and a Support Officer role I then gained with the Centre, provided me the platform to reach my business career goals. As a Support Officer with SAP ACC, I learned and applied agile methodology to support the team on the deployment of the SAP ACC Support Centre. I carried out quality checks for a minimum viable product, trained customers, wrote blogs and gained skills and tools from these activities that made it easy to transition to my current role.

I’m now a graduate Business Analyst with the Student One Consolidation Project at VU, where I support the business process design, data conversion testing and user acceptance testing. I hope to learn and gain more experience in the business analytics field in the next two to three years, and move to project management.”
