When checking your course dates, please note that the administrative census date or last day to add units is the deadline for adding units each study period.
The census date is your last day to withdraw from your course or unit(s) without financial penalties.
If you miss census date but withdraw before the deadline for withdrawing without academic penalty (listed as WD deadline on this page) you will avoid the academic penalty (fail), but you will remain liable for the fees.
If you withdraw after the WD deadline you will fail the unit and also be liable for the fees. This is called withdraw with academic penalty (listed as WN fail on this page).

Note: If a class is cancelled due to a public holiday, an alternative mode of delivery for the content planned for those days will be communicated to you by your Course Coordinator on student email and VU Collaborate.
