Victoria University Research Repository (VURR, formerly known as VUIR) is an open access repository that showcases the research and scholarly outputs of VU staff and higher degree research students.

The Repository contains various materials from staff and students, including:

  • refereed scholarly and research journal articles

  • conference papers

  • books and book chapters

  • Doctoral and Masters by Research theses by VU students

  • university related research material, such as working papers, reports, discussion papers, etc.

  • scholarly journals and literature published by the University

  • selected material from the Library’s Special Collections.

Full-text versions of the research may be available with the permission of the authors, and when copyright allows.

Benefits of the repository

VU research is stored and managed in a centralised, secure and stable environment, with easy access world-wide. It locates all publications for each author in one place, producing a complete list and a permanent link for each entry.

Researchers depositing full-text items to the Repository can track and review the number of times their papers are viewed and downloaded.

Submission to the Repository enables researchers to meet recommendations of funding bodies, including ARC and NHMRC, to deposit research publications in an institutional or subject-based Repository.

Searching for materials

Within the Repository, material can be browsed by author, collection, College/research area/subjects (based on Fields of Research (FOR) classifications), year and latest additions. Theses may be searched separately.

The Repository allows you to perform a simple search, which looks across the full range of fields, and an advanced search, which lets you limit your search to a specific set of criteria.

VURR is an Open Access Initiative (OAI) compliant repository. Such repositories can be found by Google.

Statistics

Statistics are available at the collection level (by author, collection, faculty or FOR classification).

Statistics are also available for individual entries where there is full-text available, and may be accessed from the individual entries in VURR.
