Rodger Fernandez is a Professor in the Victoria Law School.

Rodger has lectured in Immigration and Taxation Law at Victoria University. He has been a practising lawyer in immigration, commercial law and litigation, for over 30 years. He is a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law and was the Chair of the Law Institute of Victoria, Advisory Committee to the Specialisation Board (Immigration Law) for many years. He is a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria and High Court of Australia and is a solicitor for the Supreme Court of NSW. He is the co-author of numerous publications including Australian Migration Legislation Collection and the Australian Immigration Companion.

Rodger is also listed in the Financial Review's Australia’s Best Lawyers

He was a member of the Program Advisory Committee, Immigration Advisers Authority New Zealand as well as the Independent Reference Group of the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA).
