About Melissah Thomas
Melissah is a research fellow in the Institute for Sustainable Industries & Liveable Cities (ISILC) and a teaching academic in the College of Arts, Business, Law, Education and IT at Victoria University in Melbourne.
Her past experiences and passion for working as a secondary teacher of science and psychology sparked her to explore Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and educational research. Her research interests centre around pedagogy, curriculum and assessment in higher and teacher education, and social justice. She specialises in adopting design thinking in educational research as a results-driven planning method and inquiry process. Her research aims to contribute to promoting and sustaining changes to improve teaching, learning, and assessment in higher and teacher education.

Teaching activities & experience
Melissah teaches in the Master of Teaching (Secondary), Bachelor of Education (p-12), and Diploma of Education Studies at Victoria University. She is the unit coordinator of ETS005 (Specialisation Assessment and Reporting) and ETS5006 (Specialisation Innovations in Curriculum and Pedagogy) in the Master of Teaching Course.
