About Jo Doley

Jo has a keen interest in the social aspects of body image and eating disorders. She completed her PhD on stigma in eating disorders, which resulted in a set of guidelines for safe discussion of eating disorders that was adapted by the National Eating Disorders Association for a US audience. Jo has also helped to develop and trial two interventions to improve the body image of young people.

Jo maintains research connections with both local and international researchers in the body image and eating disorders fields. She has experience in a variety of quantitative methodologies, including experimental studies, delphi studies, and systematic reviews. Recently, Jo has been examining the role of gender and sexuality in the context of body image, and hopes to develop this area of interest further.
