About Jerome Rachele
Jerome is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health, Discipline Lead Public Health in the College of Sport, Health and Engineering, and Group Lead of the Promoting Inclusive and Equitable Community Health (PIECH) Research Group in the Institute for Health and Sport. The primary focus of Jerome's research is to improve our understanding of how urban design can reduce health inequalities.
Jerome completed an undergraduate double-degree in Applied Science (Human Movement Studies) and Education (Secondary) (2010) followed by a PhD (2014) at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. Following the completion of his PhD, Jerome worked at Queensland Health, then as a Research Fellow in the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Healthy, Liveable and Equitable Communities based at the Queensland University of Technology (2014-2015), before moving to Australian Catholic University until the end of 2017. In 2018, Jerome began working as a Research Fellow in the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Disability and Health based at the University of Melbourne.
Jerome has an extensive publication record including papers in international peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, commissioned research reports, and international conference presentations. He supervises a number of PhD students, including several to completion.
