About Bo Klepac

Bo is passionate about reducing health and education inequities and achieving better health and education outcomes for disadvantaged communities through policy change.

She holds a PhD in public health policy, a PhD in political science, a masters degree in political science and a masters degree in European studies. In 2020, she received a Victoria University Medal for Academic Excellence in Research.

Bo is co-author of the Comprehensive Analysis of Policy on Physical Activity framework. She is involved in several international and national research projects and is a researcher in the Global Observatory for Physical Activity (GoPA!) network. In capacity of Research Fellow in Health and Education, she is currently working at 5-year, $11 million Program Pathways in Place: Co-creating community capabilities.

At Victoria University, Bo has lectured in:

  • Growth, development and ageing
  • Sustainability in sport and recreation. 

She was a media and policy consultant on various European Union-funded projects and programs.

In 2017, Bo received an Early Career Research Award at the HEPA Europe conference for her global systematic review on physical activity and sedentary behaviour policies. She has extensive experience in health promotion, policy analysis, and research to policy/practice translation.
