
We are seeking a Psychology honours graduate with excellent research and statistical skills to undertake an innovative project as a PhD.
The research is a collaborative industry partnership between Victoria University and Bioscreen (a provider of specialist pathology services).
About the PhD project
The project involves working with a database of over 8000 patients containing:
- multiple questionnaire responses on the frequency and severity of a wide range of neurocognitive, mood, sleep and physical symptoms from people with a range of disorders
- microbiota levels across several hundred different types of gut flora.
The project will involve a variety of statistical techniques, including regression modelling.
Eligibility
The successful applicant will:
- have a strong academic record
- be well organised,
- be highly motivated
- be capable of working well independently.
- have evidence of strong performance in statistical analysis
- have an interest in human bioscience (preferred).
The scholarship recipient will receive $40,000 per year (tax free) for three years.
Both domestic (local) and international students can apply for the scholarship.
Domestic (local) students
A successful domestic applicant will be granted a Research Training Scheme place (exempting them from PhD fees) and a stipend of $40,000 per year.
International students
A successful International applicant will be required to pay full tuition fees and but will receive a stipend of $40,000 per year.
Relocation costs for international or interstate applicants will be at their own expense.
