Healthy female volunteers invited to join high-intensity training study

Researchers in the College of Sport and Exercise Science are seeking volunteers to participate in a study into the effects of high-intensity interval training.

If you are female, aged between 18-40, have a healthy and active lifestyle, are a non-smoker and not currently doing high-intensity interval training, you may be eligible to participate in the study.

The research will take place over 12-14 weeks from June to September 2013. You will be required to do high-intensity interval training three days per week for four weeks, followed by one day per week for six weeks. Training sessions are between 15-60 minutes, and are held in Building P, Footscray Park. Volunteers will receive free detailed fitness testing, including aerobic fitness (VO2max, lactate threshold) and will undertake blood and muscle sampling (four biopsies over 12 weeks).
