Supply chain and logistics management studies receive CILTA accreditation

VU's Bachelor of Business (Supply Chain and Logistics Management) and Associate Degree in Logistics have been accredited by the Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA) for a period of five (5) years from 2013 to 2017.

This certification recognises that these two courses have been mapped to the CILT International Key Knowledge Areas (KKA's), and allows students to achieve the educational requirements of Chartered Membership (CMILT). This provides certainty of the quality and relevance of the programs to their workplaces and careers.

CILTA is part of the International CILT network, with 33,000 members working in over 100 Countries. CILTA's mission is to provide leadership in research, policy and professional development, and to support continuous improvement in the Transport and Logistics Industry. CILTA is unique in having members from Passenger Transport, Freight Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Students enrolled in these certified courses are entitled to receive one year's complimentary CILTA membership. Membership gives each student access to the comprehensive career support from the Institute including access to the resources of the CILT International On-Line Knowledge Centre, the largest on-line resource of its kind specifically focused on Transport and Logistics, and supply chain in general.

Course Coordinator Dr. Himanshu Shee said, "This certification is an excellent achievement for VU, and a milestone in imparting quality education and training in Supply Chain and Logistics Management. With the state-of-the-art curriculum, delivery and industry interaction, I am confident that the certification will get the Logistics sector more into the university making the degree more work integrated and relevant to real world practice."
