Easter holidays and Anzac Day overlap in an unusual way in 2011. The Victorian State Government has declared a Public Holiday in lieu of Anzac Day on Tuesday 26 April. However, most VU staff and students already have a holiday on Tuesday 26 April so the University has made Wednesday 27 April a holiday as well for some staff and students.
Some publications that have the semester breaks listed, including the Student Diary, were printed with the provisional academic calendar. The dates on page 36 and 37 of the Student Diary are incorrect.

Higher Education students
The Higher Education mid-semester break is from the 22nd to the 29th April.
TAFE students
The mid semester break will vary depending on the course however Wednesday 27 April is not a university holiday for TAFE teaching staff or students.
If you are still unsure of when your semester break is, check with your lecturer.
