Updated advice to students on NTEU bans

The work bans that the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) has imposed, withholding some Semester One results, will not affect units in the Faculties of Arts, Education and Human Development or Health Engineering and Science. They will affect results in some units in the Faculty of Business and Law. The University is advising students enrolled in affected units of the action they should take in relation to their Semester Two studies.

Known units of study that are affected:

  • BAO1101 Accounting for Decision Making
  • BCO1102 Information Systems for Business
  • BEO1105 Economic Principles
  • BEO1106 Business Statistics
  • BHO1171 Introduction to Marketing
  • BMO1102 Management and Organisation Behaviour
  • BAO1107 Accounting Information Systems
  • BAO5527 Accounting Systems and Technology

The NTEU has indicated that there are exemptions from the ban in place for graduating students, students requiring a letter of completion and onshore international students. The NTEU has indicated that it will grant exemptions to students who face genuine hardship as a result of their results being withheld. The NTEU has also indicated that it will grant automatic exemptions to students whose result for a unit is "E", to allow students to sit supplementary assessments and to enrol in appropriate second semester units.

If you wish to make an application for exemption please complete the form to apply for an exemption on the NTEU website.

If you seek clarification on exemptions contact the NTEU via their website.

The University will be doing its best to ensure that those students are not disadvantaged as a consequence of the delay in receiving their results.
