The Mitchell Institute's influential education and health policy work has been made possible due to the generous contributions of our funders.
Funders & commissions
Major funders
The Mitchell Institute was established in 2014 thanks to the generous support of the Harold Mitchell Foundation. In 2021, the foundation extended its commitment with a five-year, $5 million philanthropic donation. Victoria University and the Foundation are the major funders of the Mitchell Institute.
Commissioned work
The Mitchell Institute also undertakes commissioned and funded work.
A three-year, $600,000 Federal Department of Health grant helps fund our Getting Australia’s Health on Track program (including our Australia's Health Tracker series).
Part of our early childhood education and care research has been supported by $150,000 in grants from the Minderoo Foundation.
