Stuart started working at Victoria University in 2009 as Senior Advisor – Welfare in the Student Support and Advisory Department within the Student Wellbeing Department. He is an Elected Staff Council Member of the University Council.
Before joining Victoria University, Stuart enjoyed an engaging and challenging career in the following sectors:
- Australian Public Service, Nursing & Community sector
- Australian Defence Force.
Stuart is the immediate past President of the Victoria University Branch of the National Tertiary Education Union; he also has served nine years as an elected National Councillor for the NTEU.
Stuart has highly-developed skills and knowledge of the role of a University Council Member from previous board membership within the Health, Higher Education and Community & NGO sectors. He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Stuart has considerable professional experience in client and community advocacy and engagement, working with individuals and organisations to help them reach their full potential and organisational strategic goals.
