Dr Neil Fernandes completed his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of New South Wales in 2011.
This was followed by two years of Postdoctoral research on global influenza surveillance at the University of Sydney.
In 2014, Neil moved to Melbourne to complete a Master of Teaching at the University of Melbourne, specialising in Secondary Education. In 2016, Neil began working as an academic tutor in science, maths and biomedicine-related subjects at the University of Melbourne and Victoria University.
In 2018, Neil joined Victoria University’s new First Year College and is currently involved in developing novel educational programs for science, maths and biomedicine-related subjects.
