Kathy Michael is a lecturer in accounting in the Victoria University Business School.

Kathy’s significant contribution to teaching and learning has been recognised with the 2017 Vice-Chancellor’s PEAK Award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (HE) and the Victoria University Business School Award – Excellence in Learning & Teaching (2017).

Kathy started her career in industry and has a diverse background of experience in the accounting field.

She currently holds the following appointments at VU: Lecturer, Course Convenor, and Management of the iPAB competition and Offshore Site Coordinator for undergraduate programs running in China (Liaoning University Shenyang, CUFE Beijing and Henan University Kaifeng).

Her previous appointments included the offshore site coordinator Australian College of Kuwait, Undergraduate Course Coordinator, Sessional Mentor, Team leader Online Class pilot project. Her admirable commitment and leadership in supporting students’ learning through the development of her innovation of Virtual office Hours (VOH) has been recognised nationally and internationally.
