John worked for 35 years in the health sector in Victoria. He has worked for Ambulance Victoria as the clinical regional manager (South West Area of Victoria) and as a mobile intensive care ambulance (MICA) paramedic.
He has been involved in education with in the sector for well over 20 years. He was seconded and worked as a lecturer B at Victoria University for a number of years from 2008 prior to commencing full time.
John is a registered secondary school teacher with Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). He also has an accounting degree major, with a minor in law and administration.
Early in John’s career he worked in the hospital environment within the clinical setting. He has a business background and still is a part-time director and company secretary to a small company operating in regional Victoria. John has also been involved as an executive board member of a major regional secondary school, and a member of rotary as part of his community work.
John recently completed a master of philosophy in medicine on clinical reasoning and clinical placement. John continues to do research in clinical education and reasoning on paramedics.
