Habibah Ghazali is a Teaching Focussed Academic at the College of Sport, Health & Engineering, and an expert in the field of material engineering.

She obtained her PhD in Engineering from the School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at The University of Sydney, Australia, in 2016. Her PhD focused on microencapsulation of polymeric self-healing agents, processing of polymer composites, mechanics of solids and fracture, as well as the development of experimental and characterisation methods to accurately measure the properties of high-performance self-healing carbon fibre reinforced polymer.

Her research papers have been published in the top journals in her field, including Composites Science & Technology and Composites Part A.

Before joining Victoria University, Habibah held teaching positions at various institutions including University Malaysia Sabah (Malaysia) in 2009-2012, University of Sydney (Australia) in 2016-2017, and University of Technology Malaysia (Malaysia) in 2019-2022.

Habibah’s major research interests are in the areas of:

  • composites science and technology,
  • smart materials and structures,
  • nano-materials and nano-composites,
  • structural integrity and durability.
